Since I joined Facebook, I haven't really updated the blog. Facebook is so much easier to just hurry and add all the pictures you want (at once) and be done with it. However, I decided that Facebook isn't as personal as the blogs are so I am going to try and get better about blogging. Plus, only my closest "peeps" know about my blog and somethings I don't want all of my Facebook friends to see what I am doing. So you might have already seen some of these pictures if we are friends on Facebook .
That being said............here we go.
Some of you may already know Destrey and I went to Disneyland with my parents, Kenzee and Rylee it was just the six of us on this trip and we had a blast! We went to Disneyland, California Adventure and Universal Studios. It rained quite a bit while we were there but the only day it was really bad was the day we went to Universal Studios but even there we still had fun. It is just unfortionate though because when it rains like that they don't open all of the attractions. It wasn't crowded at all so that part was nice because we were able to walk right on most of the rides. They said on the news that they hadn't seen rain like that in months, of course.
My pictures are not in any kind of order because well, I am just too lazy to try and put them in order because it is so much of a hassle (once again that is why I went to Facebook....it is so EASY to add pictures there).
Disneyland is FULL of "pin traders" this place is crazy with people wearing their lanyards full of pins. Some people even wore 3 or 4 lanyards at a time. So we started asking some of the Disney employes what all the craze is. You can go up to any Disney employee (who is wearing pins) and ask them to trade you a pin and they have to trade you. They can trade each guest only twice but they have to trade if you ask. My Dad got a pirate lanyard and a pirate pin, my Mom didn't want him to trade his pirate pin so she bought him a mystery bag pin (it comes with two pins) well she ended up liking both the pins he got from the mystery bag too. Needless to say, Dad never traded any of his pins but he came home with quite a few on his lanyard. The last day we were there one of the Disney workers told me they have "special edition" pins and they only release a certain number of them and they are only released at one location. We got a Tinkerbell pin that was released that day and they only made 500 of the pins. Later when we thought about it we realized we should have bought two of them. It could be worth alot of money one day. Pin trading is HUGE, they hold meetings all the time at the Disney hotels and there is an enormous online network of traders.
Here is my cute Dad wearing his pin lanyard.

Here we are inline to ride the Bear River ride in California Adventures. My Mom got soaked on this ride, I think it was because she was trying not to get wet. Just a little side note.....white is
not the best color to wear on this ride.

The kids and I riding the wild mouse ride, I can't remember what it is called but it is the wild mouse at Lagoon.

Destrey ready for take off on California Screamin!

Kenzee on California Screamin, the kids rode this ride 14 times in one day! They learned if you go in as a single rider you can skip the long line and not have to wait. They don't care if they sit next to each other or not just as long as they don't have to wait in the line.

Yes, they finally talked me into going on this ride. I am really not one that likes to go fast, upside down, side ways.....you name it. Give me "It's a Small World" anyday and I am happy.

After riding Splash Mountain. Destrey rode in the front seat he got pretty wet but if I remember right I think my Mom got pretty wet on this one too.

Destrey wanted to find a hat from Disneyland. This is a really cute picture but I am sure glad he decided not to get this one. I don't know how well it would go over in the halls at Junior High. It is funny to see people at Disneyland though. Where else are you going to see a 250lb grown man wearing mouse ears on top of his head.

I love this picture, this is us on Splash Mountain.

Aren't my parents just the cutest people ever??

This picture is kind of an inside joke but I will try to explain it to you. The ENTIRE trip Kenzee had to keep asking me questions and your everyday questions. She would ask my questions that I could not possibly know the answer to these questions like: Why does that sign say not to touch the railing? What does the Mummy Returns ride do? How much longer until it is our turn? Are we going to get on the next car? and so on and so on, it was always questions with her. So one morning when we got up I told her she gets to ask me a question after she did I told her I was not taking any more questions. It drove her crazy because she would start to ask me a question and I would tell her to stop and think about it first. This picture is me telling her "Kenzee, how would I know the answer to that question!"

Notice her rolling her eyes at me.
This traffic jam is driving Rylee crazy, he wants to know what the hold up is. It is funny how this ride is always one of the favorites, even grown adults who have driven for years love this ride. Maybe they are hoping that they will find a break in the concrete track and they can take their car off roading. Oh......maybe that is just me.

Traffic Jam?? No problem..........this just gives Kenzee an opportunity to catch up on her text messages.

Could this be the cause of the traffic jam? You always suspect the ones that try and look the most innocent.

Whew, as you can see it wasn't Des causing the traffic jam. Good thing, how do you tell people you have been banned from the happiest place on earth.

I would have used a little tnt if they did try and ban me. nah, just kidding

Teenagers.............even have to talk on the phone at Disneyland.

Destrey and I after one of my favorite rides. He was not happy that I made him go on this ride. For some reason It's a Small World was my favorite ride the first time I ever went to Disneyland, I was 16 years old, so it will always be at the top of my list.

Look how happy everyone is to go on this ride. They had me sit all by myself.

The Buzz Lightyear ride was really fun but I was busy taking pictures, I didn't know they kept score of how many targets you shot so I had a low score the first time. The kids teased me so much about it I made them ride it again.........that time there were no pictures, I wasn't playing for funsies. Rylee still beat my score but I did come in 2nd place.
This is how Rylee looks after a lonnnggg day at Disneyland.

It was a really fun trip but Kenzee said we laugh too much. How can a person laugh too much?? I wish I was going with you guys again. It would be fun to see the little ones.
Oh Val, What a great post! Your family would be so fun to go with. I would laugh the entire time! I have never been on the small world ride it was broke down the whole week we were there. Glad you had fun!
Good thing that Shauna said that you had updated. It still has your watchbands listed as your blog whenever I checked yours. I just did not click on it, but I am glad I did, it was cute, I loved all of your pictures. Your family is growing up fast, you will have to blog this last trip to Disneyland for your Mom. It sounds like it was fun also.
I need to show JP your blog. Maybe it will make him want to go. I love the picture of you with your parents. That was really cute!!
How fun! I love Disneyland. You got some great pictures.
Oh Kris....the entire trip could be free and JP still wouldn't go to Disneyland....or would he?
Val you got some great shots of the trip. I especially like the one of Carla all wet in the white shirt. We'll title that one "Carla gone wild"! :)
